I’ve never been a big fan of the CCCC Friday night rock ‘n’ roll dance: for me, there’s almost always been an better time to be had elsewhere, with other similar-minded composition folks.
This year, for those of us with geeky inclinations (of whom I am admittedly one), there is an additional significant and compelling reason to find oneself elsewhere at 10 PM on April 4.
So the question would then seem to be: OK, who’s got the spacious suite with the big TV?
Squee! We’ll already be back home by then. We’re making it a short trip — in on Wednesday afternoon just in time for the Caucus, out first thing Friday morning. That’s IF, hoping, I don’t go into labor with little Hulk Hogan before then.
I, uh, that blonde in the red dress is certainly a compelling reason to watch, but I decided to pass on 4C’s this year. I’m just not up to a cross-country trip during the first week of the spring term. Maybe, if we sell our rental house, I can make it to C&W.
You can count my family in the category of “geeks”. My wife and I will be waiting in front of the tube. In fact, we have been watching past seasons again just to refresh our memories. I don’t have a big screen and I think I’m a bit too far away for you, but you have an open invitation to watch it with us. Have a good time at your conference.
Rob
Clancy, when is your due date? Is it in May or April?
Mike, I don’t have a suite–maybe desert democrat will, and she’s a BSG fan, too. (I think).
Bradley, I was just checking the CCCCIP agenda (even though I have a conflicting obligation that day) and the conference program, and I was like, “Cool! Bradley’ll be there at that one. And at that one!”
Now you’re making me miss being there, and it’s not even started already! Still, I need a break. We have spring break next week, finals right now, and a new term the first week of April. Getting to NO in the first week of class was just more work than I wanted to take on, never mind the expense. But this reminds me that I need to sign the resolution and fax it in today, this morning.
I’ll miss your not being at the 4C’s, Brad. I was hoping to bend your ear about e-portfolios.
I’m not attending Cs this year, but you are definitely speaking my language!
